Given the Cambridge-London axis of this group I'd say alternating between the two places makes a lot of sense. Sorry Oxford, M4, M3 and other clusters, the people who turned up to last years dinners seemed to be either based in London or Cambridge.

The Tipping Point by Gladwell. This book was instrumental in helping us develop our word of mouth strategy.

Built To Last - by Jim Collins co authored with Jerry porras based on their research project at Stanford University. Though, this book is not about software business, I truly feel this is a must read book for every business man.

A while ago Steve Blank (customer development guru) recommended "Marketing High Technology" about the Intel marketing wars in the 80's... I'm still int he midst of it, but I think it's very good.
